About
I graduated from the Psychology Department of Halic University in 2010 and began my career by observing therapy sessions and working with clients under the supervision of a private psychiatrist in Istanbul, Turkiye. Then, I completed my clinical internship at psychosis clinic in Bakırkoy Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Education and Research Hospital.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Touro University in New York. My first internship in the USA was at an organization supporting children and adolescents whose parents were incarcerated, providing rehabilitation and after-school psychological support. I later obtained my license in substance use and addiction counseling in New York and completed an internship at an addiction facility, where I went on to work as a therapist for nearly three years. In this role, I provided individual, group, and family therapy, as well as psycho-education on addiction and medication-assisted treatment.
In 2021, I joined Thrive Behavioral Health, a large community mental health organization in Rhode Island State, as a licensed mental health clinician, specializing in co-occurring disorders, borderline personality disorders, psychosis and more. During this time, I received trainings in evidence-based approaches and five years of intensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) individual and group supervision from Marsha Linehan-certified supervisor Erika Cannon. As part of a comprehensive DBT consultation team, I continue to receive ongoing individual and group supervisions, while providing individual therapy, leading DBT skills groups, offering coaching calls, and supervising other clinicians in co-occurring disorders and DBT practices. I also worked with young adults and adults experiencing a first episode of psychosis through the Healthy Transitions program, offering individual, group, and family therapy as part of a coordinated care team. In this role, I collaborated closely with psychiatrists, nurses, other clinicians, case managers, and peer specialists to ensure holistic and recovery oriented treatment. I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in New York State and Rhode Island.
Today, I work with clients based in both Turkiye and the United States, providing therapy tailored to their unique needs.
